History
We are a family business, Matt Helbo and his nephew Andrew Helbo. Andrew grew up in Quebec, where he learned the timber framing trade from an early age, working in the family business. He eventually relocated to Vancouver Island’s south end in 2018, where he began building and installing custom cabinetry.
Matt also grew up in Quebec, first learning the timber framing trade but eventually moved to building and installing custom cabinetry in Montreal in 2005. Almost two decades later, Matt relocated to Vancouver Island, joined forces with Andrew, and opened Strathcona Custom Cabinetry Inc.

Let’s Get To Know Us
01. Our Approch
If you can dream it, we can build it. Reach out with your ideas, inspiration and design questions. We’ll discuss your project, timeline and specifications. A site visit is scheduled to discuss materials, measurements and design elements. After the details are finalized, plans will be drawn and presented.
Once drawings have been approved and design choices are just right, we begin building your cabinets by hand in our shop. Everything is custom and carefully constructed. We aim to use sustainable and quality materials with attention to detail as the highest priority.
